Representatives Steve Stivers (R-OH) and Mike Michaud (D-OH) are circulating a bipartisan sign-on letter in support of a NMTC extension and inviting their colleagues in the House of Representatives to sign on. Please contact your Representatives and ask them to sign.

The letter, which is addressed to Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) and Ranking Member Sandy Levin (D-MI), calls for a permanent extension of the New Markets Tax Credit with increased allocation authority. Stivers and Michaud are seeking signatures from members of the House who are NOT on the Ways and Means Committee.

The Coalition has prepared a target list of Representatives who have indicated support for the NMTC in the past and/or have significant NMTC activity in their districts. The target list also includes a list of Representatives who have signed the letter:

This is a critical time in the House for the NMTC. With Chairman Camp expected to release his tax reform bill some time next month, the Stivers/Michaud letter provides a great opportunity to mobilize off-Committee supporters of the NMTC. We hope you take a moment contact your Member of Congress and urge them to sign onto the letter. Stivers and Michaud have circulated a Dear Colleague requesting signatures and we encourage you to attach both the sign-on letter and the Dear Colleague in your correspondence with Congressional staff. Representatives who are interested in signing onto the letter should contact either Justin Barnes with Rep. Stivers (Justin.Barnes@mail.house.gov) or Nora Todd with Rep. Michaud (Nora.Todd@mail.house.gov). The letter will be open for signatures until close of business on Tuesday, October 29th.
