Construction and permanent financing for a seafood processing plant located in Platinum, Alaska GCI Communication Corp, an Alaska telecommunications company, will extend its broadband network to the Aleutian Island Chain to provide service to rural Alaska Native Villages. Through the NMTC, the CDE, Alaska Growth Capital used its 2003 allocation to join with the Tyonek Native Corporation and provide a $1 million loan for this project with Envirotech. A new 14,340 sq. ft. facility serves the elders of a 12-village Northwest Arctic region, an area the size of Ohio, and provides them with a high level of medical care in the region. The new Yukon-Koyukuk Elder Assisted Living Facility received substantial economic through NMTC financing. Massive broadband expansion brings improved healthcare and connectivity to remote Alaska A center for nonprofits in a Anchorage neighborhood in transition from distress and decay to new life as the City's Arts and Cultural District. The NMTC financed the opening of the crisis center at 755 A Street, Anchorage, Alaska.
