Voices from the Community

HAP is an anchor nonprofit in the Twin Cities, serving the immigrant and refugee communities for over 30 years. Annually, HAP serves 25,000 individuals in workforce development, economic development and other community wellbeing programs. Without NMTC through organizations such as Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corporation, HAP would not have been able to acquire and reconstruct our two workforce facility sites. These sites are integral to our workforce development training we provide to our communities. NMTC are essential to our communities, and even more so for nonprofits such as HAP who would otherwise have no other way to finance buildings and projects that are integral to improving lives of underserved communities. I and HAP urge for the NMTC program to be permanent.
