The current project to build a new $6.4 million, 30,000 sq. ft. Becker County Museum building has been in the works for more than four years. Though the original plan had been for the Historical Society to break ground on the new building this fall, a $290,000 grant through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act from Becker County to make pandemic-related safety improvements to the lobby caused that portion of the project to be moved up in the timeline.
