Project Description

This Non-Metro, Real Estate project located in Keene, NH is being developed by a southern NH economic development agency as a ‘rehab to suit’ for Benson Woodworking (Bensonwood) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Unity Building Technologies. Bensonwood is a locally-grown 44-year old, award-winning design-build firm that produces energy-efficient commercial and residential buildings.

The 104,000 sq. ft. expansion project retained 116 high quality jobs and create 15 new job permanent FTE jobs with living wages and benefits and allow both companies to capitalize on market opportunities to grow sales and compete more effectively in their niche markets by expanding their mechanized, prefabrication operations in the new facility.

The project comprises the acquisition and renovation of an existing industrial facility, the purchase and installation of state-of-the-art fully automated, computer controlled equipment that manufacture building and building-systems components, and the leasing of the property, including the building, driveways and parking areas, as a manufacturing and assembly facility to the two affiliated companies.
