Project Description

The Choctaw Wellness Center provides opportunities for wellness-related recreational and educational activities including but not limited to: group fitness classes, biometric screens, nutritional counseling, wellness coaching, and general fitness facility usage. The center features 6,982 sq. ft. dedicated to strength and cardio equipment, a full-court basketball gymnasium, a 10-foot-wide suspended walking and jogging track, and more than 7,000 sq. ft. dedicated to specialty classes, including: CrossFit, indoor cycling, yoga, martial arts and various other classes. The wellness center generated 120 construction jobs, retained 16 jobs and created 18 new full-time jobs. The center is free to all Choctaw tribal members and their families and any member of a federally recognized tribe, law enforcement officers, firefighters, active military, and emergency personnel. The center is estimated to accommodate over 250,000 visits per year.
