Project Description

Saint Charles College in Grand Coteau is an historic seminary and retreat center that has been serving the needs of the Jesuit community throughout the Gulf South for over 100 years.

The NMTC project consisted of a main building renovation of approximately 82,500 s.f. and an additional 15,600 s.f. for the chapel portion. The project was carefully staged through three phases of work and includes completely new building systems (heating and cooling, plumbing, telephone and data, security, etc.), fire safety systems, a new elevator, additional built out space on all three floors, and ADA code compliance.

The building was partially occupied throughout all three phases. One of the major features of the renovations was the creation of a new assisted living wing, with a dedicated chapel and dining area, and staff support areas. The assisted living rooms have private bathrooms designed for accessibility and ease for staff assistance.
