Project Description

Family Health Centers used $6.6 million in NMTC financing for the relocation and expansion of its Medical clinic and Pharmacy. The new 18,200 sq. ft. clinic and 1,600 sq. ft. pharmacy nearly quadrupled the size of the old facility, allowing for a 33% increase in patient visits by 2016 and providing access to health services for an additional 5,167 low-income patients a year. The new facility is better equipped to provide residents of Okanogan County with primary and preventative out-patient services, dental care, pharmacy services, chronic care and obstetrics. NDC made its New Markets Allocation available under the Healthy Futures Fund a Partnership including Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), The Kresge Foundation and Morgan Stanley which supports the development of Federally Qualified Health Centers in underserved areas. The project resulted in the projected creation and/or retention of 26 construction jobs and 67 permanent jobs.
