Project Description

Pacific Gateway Center is a 35‐year old non profit whose mission is to help immigrants, refugees and low‐income residents of Hawaii gain access to opportunities and services that will lead to self‐sufficiency. This project involved the acquisition/rehabilitation of a 10,200 sq. foot historic commercial building located in the Chinatown neighborhood of downtown Honolulu. Pacific Gateway acquired the building in 2003 and construction had occurred through the years as grants and other financial contributions to the organization became available. NMTC financing provided low‐cost capital (approx. $800K) needed to finally complete the Paradise Enterprise Center renovation – a facility to house PGC’s main offices, retail incubator, business center and restaurant.
