Project Description

Bio-fuels producer from post recycled municipal solid waste: MRC provided equity like loans to Fiberight for the acquisition and installation of equipment at its facility in rural Lawrenceville, Virginia, a community of approximately 1,400 people. Fiberight’s innovative method of transforming waste into advanced biofuels expands the production of clean, domestic biofuels in order to reduce our oil dependency. Garbage trucks collect trash and carry it to Fiberight’s plant to be turned into fuel, eliminating thousands of pounds of waste that would otherwise go to the landfill. In Lawrenceville, Fiberight and MRC partnered with Southside Virginia Community College to provide scholarship opportunities to low-income students who have an interest in the renewable energy industry in conjunction with the SVCC technical program in which they are enrolled.
