Historic rehabilitation of the former U.S. Post Office building built in 1911 converted to a 110,000 square foot, state-of-the-art innovation and technology training facility designed to create an energizing and open workspace for local entrepreneurs and apprentices, particularly those from low-income, minority, and underserved backgrounds. Local non-profit partnering with Bitwise Enterprises whose business model empowers residents of communities of concentrated poverty to have access to quality jobs and career opportunities in fast-growing industries such as technology. Bitwise, the sponsor, designs workforce training programs for individuals coming almost exclusively from systemic poverty. Bitwise focuses on first-generation immigrants, minorities, and females – unlocking their potential by coupling technical training with access to essential services that address barriers to entry. Bitwise will also operate a tech consulting company in the building that hires almost exclusively from the training program.
