Project Description

Poultry producer and processor Wayne Farms is investing $16.9m in the expansion of its Laurel Fresh Production Facility in Mississippi, US. The construction began in February 2020 and is expected to be completed in May 2020. The project will create more than 200 new jobs and, upon completion of the expansion, the total workforce at the facility is expected to be approximately 550. The production facility is located at 525 Wayne Drive, Laurel, Mississippi. Spread across a 101,050ft² area, the processing facility is situated on a 48-acre site, which also includes a hatchery and feed mill. Wayne Farms will install an advanced processing line and new equipment, including deboning, packaging, automated cutting, portioning and X-Ray technology to create products under its new brand known as LADYBIRD™.
