NMTC financing supported a food hub that provides warehousing, storage, distribution, logistics, processing, and business development support to local food business and producers, as well as event space for rent and public space for visitors. The Pacific Northwest College of Art is a spectacular 130,000 sq. ft. rehabilitation of former U.S. Post Office in downtown Portland, OR. Renovation of the historic BandO Warehouse in 2007, transforming this full city-block grain repository into a dynamic hive of creative office and ground floor retail spaces. Provided $3,000,000 construction loan to build shell for a co-op grocery store in Astoria, Oregon. An Oregon-based supplier to major food producers around the world opened a new freeze-dried food processing facility in Forest Grove that created 73 jobs. The innovative public/private partnership produced a unique mixed-use development that provided affordable for-rent housing, market-rate condominiums, retail space, and parking. A cast-iron era treasure is preserved in Portland’s historic waterfront district. Restoration of the Portland Telegram building The renovation of the historic Globe Hotel building (1911) into a new home for OCOM, one of the oldest colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the U.S. Catalytic mixed-use building links Portland’s Central Business District with its vibrant Pearl District. A broad coalition of project partners envisioned a historic rehabilitation of the unique building as a world class theater and community space, designed to achieve the US Green Building Council's coveted LEED Platinum designation for sustainable design.
