Congress may take up tax extenders during the Lame Duck session after the election, and an NMTC extension may be in play. To help build momentum for an extension, this afternoon two of our Congressional champions – Congressmen Steve Stivers (R-OH) and Jose Serrano (D-NY) – requested signatures on a Dear Colleague letter urging a permanent NMTC extension before the end of 2018. Stivers, as Chairman of the National Republican Campaign Committee, is a member of the House Republican Leadership. Serrano is a senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee.
The letter, which is addressed to Ways and Means Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX), is intended for members who are not on the Ways and Means Committee.
Below, find a link to a copy of the letter and a target list of off-Committee Representatives to contact and ask to sign the letter. The target list consists of members who have supported the NMTC in the past, including current cosponsors of the NMTC Extension Act, H.R. 1098.
