Project Description

NMTC financing supported construction of a new 250,000 sq. ft. vegetable processing facility, as well as acquistion and installation of production equipment at a neighboring Waseca, MN facility.

The project will benefit the community of Waseca, where agriculture is the primary business sector. Modernization of pea and corn processing will provide many benefits to residents, local farmers, and consumers. This is the largest investment Conagra Brands has ever made in a production facility. Conagra Brands is spending $250 million to build the 250,000 sq. ft. Birds Eye frozen food plant. </P

“This is the first vegetable processing facility that’s built brand new in this region in decades, there’s been a lot of plants that have remodeled added on, have closed, but the beauty is this is a brand-new facility that’s going to be around for a long time and that’s a major investment,” GreenSeam Director Sam Ziegler explained.
