Blackstone Valley Prep Middle School 1 is a part of Rhode Island’s extremely high-performing network: Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy (BVP) charter schools. This middle school represents the second project BVP and Civic Builders collaborated on and opened in a 3-year time frame. Civic Builders expertly completed a swift renovation of a former Catholic school building to meet the 21st century needs of BVP Middle School 1. Civic Builders maintained the beauty of the original architecture of the building while completing the necessary interior and exterior upgrades to meet all of BVP’s academic and community needs. Civic Builders brought unique funding sources to the project that BVP would not have been able to access on its own such as New Markets Tax Credits, Program Related Investment dollars from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Citi e for education campaign funds.
