Project Description

Neshoba County Hospital is a 49-bed facility located in rural Philadelphia, Mississippi, which provides a broad range of primary care services to residents of Neshoba County and surrounding counties. The hospital is a Mississippi Community Hospital owned by Neshoba County. The project involved the construction of an addition and expansion to the hospital facilities consisting of a 52,000 sq. ft., two‐story building housing 25 new Patient Rooms, 4 ICU Beds, and Emergency, Surgery, Radiology, and Pharmacy Departments.

The Project allows the Hospital to realign and further its healthcare services and thereby achieve greater operational efficiency, lower healthcare costs and improve patient care. The expansion of the hospital will greatly benefit the health and welfare of the residents of Neshoba County, where 50.3% of all patients served are low-income persons, with 13.2% of patients being provided charity medical care. The project created 55 new, high-quality, permanent jobs and retained 456 positions and 145 construction jobs were created. Of the jobs created, approximately 46% are filled by the local and neighboring low-income community.
