Project Description

ERF allocation helped finance the purchase and installation of equipment, as well as provide working capital for the Charter School. The overall project will finance the redevelopment of a 36,000-sf vacant building located on the Broad Street corridor section of North Philadelphia that will serve as the new home of YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School. The School operates an innovative school and career development program for youth between ages 18 through 20 who have previously dropped out of the education system. The project will enable YBPCS to enhance development programs and services while serving an additional 50 students a year, for a total of 425 high school dropout students throughout the city. It will create 4 new jobs, 57 jobs will be retained, and 37 new construction jobs, with 75% of permanent jobs targeting Low‐Income Persons.
