Project Description

Providence House provides emergency shelter and crisis care to children newborn to 12 years old. At Providence House, children find safety and comfort in a home-like setting before abuse or neglect occurs while connecting families to partner community organizations to stabilize family crisis, improve parenting skills, and preserve the family or find alternative long-term care for children. During their stay, children receive free shelter, basic personal necessities, medical care, developmental and educational enrichment, and love. Providence House flagship facility is located in Ohio City on Cleveland’s west side. CNMIF II closed on $9.5M of Federal NMTC allocation on February 17, 2022. The NMTC allocation is providing financing for Providence House to add a second crisis nursery in the Buckeye Neighborhoods on Cleveland’s east side. This new expansion will add 20 beds (over 240 children annually); serve an additional 120 families in crisis; and provide community resources to 220 additional families through outreach and continued partner referrals. The NMTC Investor is PNC.
