Project Description

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank (GCFB) collaborates with community programs in six counties in Northeast Ohio to fulfill its mission: to ensure that everyone in the community has the nutritious food they need every day. Now in its 40th year of service, GCFB is the largest distributor of emergency food in Northeast Ohio, providing the resources for more than 50 million meals in its last fiscal year. CNMIF II closed on $10M of federal NMTC allocation on February 15, 2022 to GCFB, along with NMTC allocation from Truist, Development Fund of the Western Reserve and The Community Builders. The total $26M of Federal NMTC allocation is financing the construction of a 197,000 sq. ft. warehouse and distribution facility totaling $46.7M in project costs to house the fresh, dry and frozen food in Collinwood neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. The additional cold storage space will enable GCFB to increase total distribution of food from 45.66 million pounds in 2018 to 59.64 million in 2029. Phase 1 enabled GCFB to serve an additional 100,000 clients per year and increase daily healthy meals from 4,000 to 8,000 capacity. The NMTC Investor is PNC.
