Project Description

The Chequamegon Food Co-op is a member-owned grocery in Ashland on Lake Superior’s south shore. The co-op relocated and expanded thanks to financing from a community revolving loan from the Ashland Area Development Corporation, a joint loan from Northern State Bank and Forward Community Investments (including NMTC financing), and loans from Co-op members. The finished space includes 6,000 square feet of retail grocery, plus a deli, seating area, and cooking classroom.
