Project Description

Construction of a landfill recycled and renewable natural gas and carbon dioxide facility on a 2.5- acre site to improve Puerto Rico’s environmental well-being and energy self-sustainability.

  • The leadership of Biomass Green Fuels, LLC, a Puerto Rico-based company, has worked for years to develop the technology needed to transform an extreme polluter- landfills- into a green fuel energy supply. The principals have more that 50 years of experience engineering EPA compliant landfills.
  • Project location received a major disaster declaration due to Hurricanes Irma and Maria (2017) and the surrounding community has a poverty rate of 63% and an unemployment rate which is 3.35 times the national average.
  • The island will see a significant environmental impact, experiencing a reduction in landfill pollution and greenhouse gasses by more than 90% and particulate and sulfur dioxide by 99%.
