Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy High School (BVP) is the third school developed in the partnership between Civic Builders and the BVP charter network. Blackstone Valley Prep’s network in Rhode Island of tuition free public schools is chartered by the Rhode Island Department of Education and serves intentionally diverse communities such as Cumberland, Lincoln, Pawtucket, and Central Falls. With a mission and eye towards preparing “every scholar for success in college and the world beyond,” BVP has made careful intention to include features such as a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) space, a maker-robotic space, and a state-of-the-art media center give students more opportunity to cultivate and hone their academic interests. The building also showcases a pre-fabricated gym and ultramodern soccer field for development of their students’ athletic prowess. The first junior class of Blackstone Valley Prep was recognized in 2017 when its’ students SAT scores ranked 108 points above the state average.
