Project Description

City Fresh makes and delivery healthy meals to schools, childcare centers and senior centers throughout Greater Boston. It currently produced 15,000 meals per day for a total of 3.5 million meals per year. These meals feed approximately 25,000 low-income people and over 95% of the people receiving its meals are of color.

The project includes the acquisition of 18,000 sq. ft. commercial condominium that comes with 37 parking spaces and access to slightly over 5 acres of land, providing space to expand near its current related facility. The new property consists of a building shell that will require a complete renovation with all new systems.

The new facility enabled City Fresh to secure USDA certification for the first time. The production capacity will increase from 3.5 million meals annually to 8.4 million.
