Project Description

Construction of a new, state-of-the-art heavy truck dealership which will offer sales and support for new, used, rental and leased heavy-duty trucks and equipment. There will also be a wellstocked parts department on-site. The two companies on sight are Empire Truck Sales, a franchised heavy truck dealership and Stribling Equipment, a franchised construction and forestry equipment dealership for John Deere. The companies have been in business since 1983 and have several locations throughout the Southeast. Project is located in Winona, Mississippi, a non-metropolitan community with a poverty rate of 36.4%. The Montgomery County Supervisors approved a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Plan in support of the facility, stating in its resolution that “the project is in the best interest of the County as its future development”. The City of Winona has also adopted a TIF Plan to provide infrastructure improvements to assure adequate access to the facility.
