Project Description

Family Health Center of Southwest Florida, Inc. (“FHCSWF” or the “Sponsor”) is planning to construct a Federally Qualified Health Center (“FQHC”) to serve the primary healthcare needs of the uninsured and underinsured patient population in the surrounding area of Lehigh Acres, Florida (the “Project”). The 60,000 sq. ft. facility was built on a 5.5 acre lot in Lehigh Acres and will contain a variety of different practices including family medical, pediatric, dental, and women’s health. There are also ancillary lab services and a pharmacy included within the project. FHCSWF is a community health center that provides primary healthcare that is accessible to all people, including those who lack insurance or are underinsured. The organization seeks to target healthcare services and outreach services to the homeless, migrant, and seasonal population at all of the existing locations across Southwest Florida. The Sponsor has indicated that the project will continue this mission, aiming to serve the same population in Lehigh Acres and in surrounding Lee County, Charlotte County, and Western Hendry County. In order to support the new construction of the project, the Sponsor team has requested NMTC allocation from CHHS to fill the gap in financing and make the project financially feasible. The NMTC allocation will increase the accessibility of healthcare in a Medically Underserved census tract, especially for Low-Income Persons (low-income peoples) and Low-Income Community Residents (LICRs).
