Project Description

The Project consists of a 140,000 sq. ft. community center on a long-vacant 6.7-acre brownfield site in North Austin that was most recently owned by the City of Chicago. Modeled after the Pullman Community Center on the South Side, the new facility houses a full-sized indoor sports field that can be divided into 4 smaller fields; 2 basketball courts; rooms for mentoring, tutoring and computer-based learning; and common space for community gatherings. Intentional Sports will also operate a small sports store and café. An extensive outdoor area will include two playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, a sports field, and parking.
