Project Description

The project is a $16.1MM, 56,925 sq. ft. educational facility designed to provide in-demand automotive, mechanic, and other technical training in Indianapolis, Indiana. Central Indiana lacks an adequate pipeline of qualified and experienced automotive, diesel, and motorsports industry workers. The project addresses this need, providing a pathway out of poverty for Ivy Tech Automotive Program graduates through the competitive advantage in the workforce offered by the latest in instructional delivery methods and technologies. The project is a part of the city’s larger effort to redevelop the Lafayette Square Area (LSA), it’s first enclosed mall built in 1968 and now sits largely vacant due to obsolete space, deteriorating improvements and a perception of crime. The area has now been branded as the International Marketplace as it revives.
