Bogopa Enterprises, Inc. owns and operates grocery stores under the banner Food Bazaar Supermarket. We started with one store as a family business in 1988 and continue to do so today. We have been fortunate enough to grow to 32 locations with over 4000 employees. Most of our growth was founded on entering lower income, densely populated neighborhoods that were considered food deserts. Governments programs such as NMTC were fundamental to us assessing those opportunities and allowed to open stores and provide access to the community. We believe NMTC is a great benefit to community by bringing jobs, fresh food and more services to those that need it the most.

Project Description

Bogopa was founded in 1988, and has grown steadily to now operate 16 Food Bazaar supermarkets in New York City. Bogopa/Food Bazaar supermarkets specialize in offering international food products in ethnically diverse low-income communities in New York City, and Bogopa has locations across Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.

The project is the $15.5 million fit out of an 80,000 sq. ft. supermarket in the Bronx Terminal Market at 610 Exterior Street, Lower Concourse, Bronx. The project will create approximately 100 full-time equivalent jobs and will be Bogopa’s third Bronx location.
