Project Description

The Immaculata School is the rehabilitation of an innovative, foundational, and collaborative education facility serving K-5 and run by the Detroit Public School Community District (DPSCD). Rehab includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades and provides for renovations to existing classrooms and support spaces to facilitate the programming for DPSCD. The 64,732 sq. ft., the 3-story rehabbed facility will allow students to encounter increasingly open and flexible common areas, enabling the educational activities to expand from the defined classroom spaces into open and dynamic group settings. The Immaculata school is the second stage in a cohort consortium that takes individuals from “cradle to career.” The School at Marygrove is a public school with a high focus on social justice and engineering to enable students to identify and solve complex problems and actively participate in creating a more just and equitable future. DPSCD is Michigan’s most extensive public education system. They champion a whole child approach that combines superior academics with socio-emotional, extracurricular, and health services tailored to each student’s needs.
