Project Description

New Markets Tax Credits were used to expand the St. Croix Chippewa Tribe judicial building in Webster. The new judicial center will increase space for a new domestic violence office, additional space for drug abuse programs and more private court rooms. WHEDA’s involvement was only one piece of a much larger project. The other aspects of the development included an 850-seat amphitheater, a grocery store, gas station and fast-food restaurant, car wash and a recreational vehicle park.

NMTC financing supported the creation of up to 92 jobs, in addition to retaining 156 existing positions.
Main Street Ingredients (s a formulator and manufacturer of private label nutritional systems, Keystone stabilizer systems, Cornerstone formulated proteins, and functional dairy ingredients.
Ground up construction of a 65,009 sq. ft., 500 student charter high school.
An investment helped the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians to construct a center that meets the dental care needs of band members and other regional residents.
