Project Description

At the time this project was financed, Vancouver was home to the only YMCA facility in the state of Washington, and its impressive outreach efforts currently touched over 14,000 people each year. The Vancouver YMCA strengthened individuals and families with programs focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

With support from NMTC financing, the facility expanded to provide an upgraded gym, Child Watch Center, and Teen Center. A new lap pool allow for swim classes, local school swim teams, and senior exercise programs. The facility also added community space for birthday parties, family reunions, healthy cooking classes, and church services. This YMCA facility has long been a vital community resource, partnering with local schools and organizations to improve the wellbeing of its members. With this expansion, it is able to work with additional partners such as local businesses and greatly increase its impact on the community.
