Project Description

DDF provided $6 million in NMTC allocation to Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) in December 2016 to transform the 88-acre Camp Whispering Cedars into a STEM Center of Excellence, the first of its kind among Girl Scouts chapters. The project includes the construction of new learning spaces, major renovations of 22,000 sq. ft. of existing cabins and other camp facilities, as well as extensive site work and infrastructure development, including new trails, outdoor activity areas, and landscaping. In addition to DDF’s allocation, Capital One provided $2 million of NMTC allocation to support the project.
