Project Description

Mannington Mills, Inc. specializes in manufacturing residential and commercial sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl, carpet, and laminate/hardwood flooring. The project includes acquiring and renovating a distribution center in the small rural town of Calhoun, GA.

This development was needed to help this community where nearly a quarter of the residents live in poverty. The Mannington Mills Project spurred positive, catalytic change not only for the Company but also for the surrounding Calhoun community, of which more than a quarter of its 6,000 residents live in poverty.

Mannington undertook the project in a phased approach: (1) acquiring the distribution center and renovating an existing yarn facility into the new rubber flooring facility; (2) purchasing and installing new pressing and curing machines to expand production capacity; and (3) consolidating compounding manufacturing activities at the facility to reduce the need for redundant, costly, and non-environmentally conscious transportation between facilities.
