The Museum is deeply connected to the community, providing educational and outreach programs like Friday Nights @ OMCA to engage families and celebrate local holidays and culture. • Project is located in the Central/Lake Merritt area of Oakland which is Severely Distressed and has a median family income which is 35.05% of the metropolitan AMI. • Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf lent her support to the project, calling out how the Museum will “create new opportunities for exploration and learning for all.”
