Project Description

Through its investment in Arris Manufacturing (“Arris”), The Innovate Fund was able to support the acquisition and retrofitting of the former Baldor Electric facility in Clio. Dormant since 2016, the building used to house a vibrant workforce in the small community. Arris plans to acquire the 173,280 sq. ft. building, and completely renovate the space for building multi-family housing modular units. Arris will employ 134 people (82% accessible jobs) with an average wage of $17.11, representing a 66% improvement over the Living Wage for Marlboro County ($10.29) and a 195% improvement over the per capita income for the LIC ($8.75).
