Project Description

NMTC funding was used for the purchase and redevelopment of a 22,000 sq. ft. abandon historic theater. The space will be occupied by Bay Tech STEM, an established charter school. The school is a college prep middle and high school which serves 6th through 12th grade students from the East Bay Region of the City. This new location will enable the school to build equity in its property, while providing a more accessible expanded location for its 350 students. The space will provide for 11 classrooms, office and administration space, and a gymnasium. The project will retain 35 FTE jobs and 75 construction jobs.
