Project Description

This project involves the acquisition of an approximately 263,400 square foot building and property improvements to support the expansion of a longstanding manufacturing facility on the West Side of Chicago.Freedman Seating, a family-owned and operated company with more than 125 years of experience engineering and producing seating and seating-related products, is expanding its operations to increase production efficiency.This marks the companyՉ۪s second major expansion in the past decade, driven by sustained growth and continued improvements in manufacturing performance.At full capacity, the project is expected to support 691 full-time jobs, 99% of which will offer a living wage and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, profit sharing, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.All positions will be accessible to individuals without a four-year degree and will include in-house training to support career advancement within the company.To ensure hiring, Freedman Seating will recruit employees in partnership with more than 20 community-based organizations, including workforce development and reentry programs focused on providing opportunities to local residents and individuals facing employment barriers.
