Project Description

This is the last phase of a $70 million phased in project to redo the entire water and waste water system on the reservation. We have used new markets for the three initial phases. Prior to the redo, the POL experienced severe water shortages and unsafe waste water situations. The POL utility authority is responsible for providing electric, water, waste water and gas service to its community. There are approximately 8,000 members living across the 6 villages. These customers are spread out for approximately 30 miles on the north and south of I-40 west of Albuquerque. The costs of providing service is further exaggerated by the hard clay aspects of the soil.
