Project Description

Vantage Plastics (“Vantage”) is a family owned and operated custom thermoforming company that designs, tools, samples, and produces plastic products including plastic pallets, packaging, automotive parts, and medical devices. Since starting in 1996 with the purchase of a small thermoforming facility in Standish, MI, Vantage has grown into a family of six companies that employs over 250 Michigan residents.

The project consists of the acquisition and renovation of a long-vacant building on a brownfield site in Bay City, MI into a new 325,000-sq. ft. manufacturing and warehouse facility for Vantage.

The project includes 215,000 sq. ft. of space for Vantage’s plastic thermoforming and injection molding operations; 100,000 sq. ft. of space for the production of custom thermoplastic polyolefin sheet stock by Vantage subsidiary Airpark Plastics; and 10,000-sq. ft. of office space for staff. NMTC financing will also be used to purchase and install new injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming machines needed to expand production capacity and meet demand.
