Project Description

Project financed the reconfiguration and renovation of the primary operating site of the YWCA Central Massachusetts, Inc. The YWCA has been providing services for women and their families living in central Massachusetts area for more than 130 years and has operated out of its headquarters in downtown Worcester for over half a century. This facility is a five-story, 71,528 sq. ft. brick building that was constructed in 1961. Since that time, due to budget constraints, the building underwent only one minimal renovation in 1991, resulting in significant deferred maintenance. All systems in the building, its structure and all interior finishes were nearly 30 to 50+ years old and in need of immediate repair, refurbishment, or replacement.
