Project Description

Glass Half Full GHF is an early-stage company converting waste glass into sand for coastal restoration projects and new glass products.Unfortunately, due to both natural and human activity, such as years of dredged canals and creation of massive levees often for oil drilling and exploration, Louisiana’s wetlands are rapidly eroding. The state loses a football field worth of land every 100 minutes due to coastal erosion.Coastal restoration projects are often stalled due to insufficient sand.GHF’s existing facility is insufficient to meet increasing demand, in particular from commercial customers.GHF’s new expanded facility will provide quality jobs in a community with high unemployment, support essential coastal restoration efforts, and vastly increase the quantity of waste glass recycled across the Gulf Coast.
