Community Testimonials
Bogopa Enterprises, Inc. owns and operates grocery stores under the banner Food Bazaar Supermarket. We started with one store as a family business in 1988 and continue to do so today. We have been fortunate enough to grow to 32 locations with over 4000 employees. Most of our growth was founded on entering lower income, densely populated neighborhoods that were considered food deserts. Governments programs such as NMTC were fundamental to us assessing those opportunities and allowed to open stores and provide access to the community. We believe NMTC is a great benefit to community by bringing jobs, fresh food and more services to those that need it the most.
-Edward Suh, Bogopa Enterprises, Inc., Long Island City, NY
The NMTC funding supplements the financial gap created by the existing market and the poor quality of housing located in a designated target area to play a major role in attracting private sector capital. It serves as a catalyst for redevelopment and revitalization, and kick-starts the spread of private investment into a community left behind in the market.
