Project Description

The project is the renovation of a century-old building occupied by the YWCA of Wheeling that now requires essential repairs and upgrades to ensure the YWCA can continue its mission of assisting survivors of domestic violence, returning citizens, and homeless women and children. They currently provide shelter beds and rent out SROs.The renovation the Chapline Street building will enhance the quality of life for employees, residents, and community members and support an additional 1,200 women and families each year. Critical renovations include expanded and enhanced shelter and programming space, and expanded and refreshed residential space, a new HVAC, and upgraded plumbing and electrical.
